It's not like I do it all the time, it's been many months as far as my wife and I are aware of. Maybe even a year, who knows. It's possible I'm giggling my ass off without her hearing me but I doubt it. 
I will say that the handful of times I caught myself but was too tired to really wake up even though I was aware I was laughing in bed, I dreamed right back to sleep while laughing and remembering how fucking funny something was. I do know I wasn't laughing at nothing - sometimes I would remember what it was and be able to communicate it to my wife the next day. One time I even got up to go to the bathroom, stopping the laughing, awake .. but still smiling ... then laughing my ass off back to sleep because I found it funny again and then the cycle starts of laughing more because I find it hysterical that I am also making my wife listen to it. It's hard to explain but I love it for some reason. Wish it happened more, it's been a long while.
