PORT ORANGE, Fla. -- A 5-year-old boy, who went missing in Port Orange earlier this week, has been found with his grandmother, according to police. Authorities said the grandmother was arrested on an open warrant.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement said at about 12:15 pm agents found Elijah Holbin-Hudson with his grandmother 50-year-old Laurine Sue Arnold. The two went missing on Tuesday in Port Orange.
Laurine Sue Arnold was arrested on an open warrant out of Pinellas County, according to agents.
The two were recovered at Hare Krishna Temple, located on NW 112th Avenue in Alachua, Fla.
The child will be placed in the custody of the Department of Children and Families while the grandmother is transported to the Alachua County Jail, according to officials.
Port Orange Police Department detectives said they are in the process of preparing arrest affidavits for kidnapping and interference with custody charges. They were assisted in the investigation by FDLE, the State Attorney’s Office, and DCF officials.
