I just listened to the first recording and listening to the rest of them now. I agree the first 911 dispatcher sounded like he was ridiculous, sounded like he had been interrupted from his video games and couldn't be disturbed and i have to say that the social worker kept her calm because i would have lost it when he kept asking questions like what was his last name and what was his first name after she repeated it numerous amount of times. I understand it's probably a formality but he could of had units on the way. This stuff pisses me off. Unrelated but when i was hit by a drunk driver it took 45 minutes for police to show up and i had to call 911 and i was told the same thing priority first and when i called for the third time i said the lady is drunk and she's gonna drive off when the hell is someone gonna show up and bam they finally showed up in 2 minutes. Another time i saw a small aircraft show up and 911 was busy several times and then no one answered 3 times... this was back in 1999 but still i live in this state that this happened and definitely feel that 911 in this state can use some training. It kills me to hear the 911 operator say, priority first, life and death and we all know how this ends... i am sure the 911 operator feels like one of the biggest assholes and that isn't the word to describe this but the word i chose.
Seeing how long that length of the first conversation was it is hard not to feel that something could have been done but i also know how the terrain is and how difficult it would have been to locate the home depending on how far away someone was and then what the protocol is for entering a home where a gas leak or gas smell has been reported. It is just sad all around. Josh Powell is a disgusting pig and was a waste of human space, it is sad that he felt he couldn't live without his sons so why did he have to die with them and not let them live without him. He wasn't going to live without them, he wasn't going to live at all that was his plan... so why take them with him, they could have had a better life with their grandparents and him out of their life. I just hope he didn't do any of the things that were found on his computer and the computer generated images that were made. I'm sick to my stomach.
