WESH

A Maine woman said in an exclusive interview with WESH 2 that the missing Seminole County firefighter had been visiting her once a month.

Lisa, who did not want to give her last name, said Jerry Perdomo had been staying with her up until the night he disappeared.

"He said he was meeting a friend and I wish I could remember that friend's name," said Lisa.

The 31-year-old woman said that she had a relationship with Perdomo, 31, and that for the last 10 months he had been visiting her once a month.

She said Perdomo told her on the night of Feb. 16 that he was going out to meet a friend and that he would take her to dinner when he returned. But he never came back.

"I don't know because we had plans to go out to eat," said Lisa. "An hour after he left, one phone got shut off and about an hour and a half later, the other phone got shut off and they've been shut off ever since."

Perdomo, an Orange City man, has not been seen since Feb. 16 when he drove a rental car from Florida to Bangor. The car was found abandoned in a Walmart parking lot.

Detectives said there were no signs of foul play. Investigators said the surveillance video from the Walmart shows someone exiting the rental car at 8:15 a.m. Friday and walking away from the store. Police said they aren't sure of the identity of that person.

Lisa said Daniel Porter and Cheyanne Nowak, a couple that police were looking for and have questioned were friends of Perdomo's and that Perdomo occasionally met up with them.

The Portland Press Herald is reporting that Porter and Nowak bought a new car sight-unseen from a Bangor car dealer this week and then drove to another town to pick it up. The duo asked for directions to the nearest Walmart saying they wanted to leave their old car there because they had to drive to Florida for an emergency.

Investigators said they spoke with Porter, 24, and Nowak, 23, who officers believe are the last people to have contact with Perdomo. Police are not sharing any details about the interview.

Lisa told WESH 2 that she didn't know Perdomo was married until recently, but just wants him to be found. Bullshit

"That's the hardest part is not knowing," said Lisa. "My hope is that he just was, I don't know, just decided to up and start a new life somewhere."

Perdomo's wife reported him missing to the Bangor Police Department after she did not hear from him.

Fellow firefighters are solemn and worried about Perdomo. Two of them flew to Maine to help with the search. Coworkers feel they can raise awareness about their missing friend.

"We're missing a family member," said Seminole County Lt. Dave Williams. "I was his training lieutenant. It's unlike him."

Firefighters Leave For Maine

The station 41 firefighters have been holding vigil and wearing yellow ribbons. They said they have also started a Facebook page in hopes of gathering more information.

Perdomo, a father of two, has been a firefighter for the Seminole County Fire department since 2009 and was in the Marines.

The Bangor Police Department said they have asked for assistance from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit and are following up on information they have received over the last few days.
