They didn't take a break but rather suspended unsafe searches while keeping a skeletal crew. Personally, I think they were just setting some folks up to see where they would go and what they would do.

So stepdad gives Chris and other kids alcohol, Chris disappears to go swimming and his body is found by stepdad a day and a half later? I will withhold judgement until LE confirms that the body is Chris, but something is starting to smell really bad.
LE WAS preventing family from searching in what they called the "crime scene" but they never said you will be arrested if you searh elsewhere. As a matter of fact the night before friends and family were given parameters of where they could look but no HELP organizing effectively. The step father went outside the "crime scene" the day he " ound" the body!

You can see him from the helicopter views at the area of the body- just no close up!

Authorities seem to be saying Chris couldn't have just drowned and ended up where he did, but his sister said she saw him waist-deep in the river, looked away, looked back and Chris was gone. From his sister's account, who as far as we know has no reason to lie about it, it sounds like Chris simply drowned. But this stepfather is fishy...
There are reports all kids were drinking- how long is a minute when you are mentally compromised? I suspect it wasn't just a "minute" .
