^ I think you're both right about LaViolette's testimony and it is bullshit. She's testifying to hearsay as if she was an eyewitness to the second hand news. Double bullshit, even.
Haven't followed a case like this before and don't know how lenient the law typically is in terms of expert testimony for death penalty defendants claiming self-defense. Not sure if the judge has much to say about it if it's positioned (ever so loosely) as opinion and interpretation. Whatever the case, LaViolette's certainly getting away with a lot on behalf of Arias.
That story about Jodi confiding in Rachel and then asking Travis to go to the bishop with her to confess to the oral sex was new to me; along with Travis saying he wouldn't go because he'd been in trouble for that before. Martinez looked like he was going to blow a gasket when LaViolette made that last statement.
