Where is the angst and anger coming from? Was it not there before?

I listened to a LEO talk about this recently. He said we are raising a generation of people who have little to no regard for others and one of the things he attributed it to was the breakdown of the family unit. There is no accountability, no basic rules, no suffering the consequences. Many families don't even sit around the dinner table together any more and even more families are headed by a single parent. In general, there is an entire generation who have grown up with no supervision at all. They do as they want and come & go as they please. There is no work ethic instilled nor are they taught to behave with dignity & honor.

I agree and would add that punishment for children in this age is incredibly difficult. Sending them to their room doesn't work anymore. Taking away their phone has it's pro's and con's. You cant take away their computers because that's how they do their homework. It's a delicate balance. I often wonder if my son would have gotten into as much trouble as he did if I raised him like my dad raised me. Fear of an ass whooping kept me from doing a lot of stupid shit as a teenager.
