On November 28th, two women were walking the path on the riverbed in Compton (Los Angeles county). They heard what they first believed was a cat, and then suspected was a baby. The women called police.
LAPD arrived at the scene and located a newborn baby girl, wrapped in a blanket, buried under rocks and debris.
Yesterday the LAPD Special Victims unit announced that, with the help of tips from the public, a woman has been arrested. The woman (mother) has not yet been publicly identified, nor have the charges against her.
Here's hoping that baby ends up in a good home.
