Not to horn in on your thread, BG, but just thought I'd share an update on my GF's son Cody and his band. They are negotiating to sign with a major label and are going to Boston to record in January. Nice break for them, I still do not get the music but the kid has chops. They are also drifting away from metalcore to more mainstream metal, which is what I expected would happen.

This is the video for one of theirs I kinda like, called "Calm."

Nice composition in that one. I like the use of the dissonant chords. Here's to hoping they get a good deal! Drifting away from metalcore would be encouraged by the record company as well I suspect because it makes them more marketable and I get the feeling lately that the whole metalcore thing has just about run it's course.
