Yeah, we've known Tamir Rice was guilty of being a very big kid since just after he was killed, Maggot.
Most of us understand that he could be mistaken for an adult easily from a distance and that the pellet gun could be easily mistaken for a real one. Too bad the 911 dispatcher failed to pass those possibilities onto the responding officers.
Anyway, Ohio is open carry. Even if they assumed Tamir was an adult, the officers were not responding to an "active shooter" or "shots fired" call. There were no people near Tamir or endangered by him when cops arrived at the gazebo (as the officers falsely claimed before the video release). He was just sitting alone at a table and didn't run from police as the officers apparently miscalculated that he would.
Still, the officers pulled right up on him ('slippery grass', they now claim) and shot him from a rolling patrol car in under 2 seconds, then left him unattended and bleeding to death in the grass.
Big kid, medium sized man, large woman, white, black, brown.............the officers' approach and attempted cover-up would have been equally fucked-up to me, regardless of the deceased's physical description.
I believe the officers' incompetence unnecessarily put them in a position where Officer Loehmann, who was an established choke-under-pressure guy, feared for his life and used deadly force, even though his life was never endangered. I hope Loehmann is terminated and Garmback at least faces severe disciplinary action.
