When you say chalk paint I remember the paint you can use on a wall that gives it the ability to write on it with chalk. Great for a kids room. But you probably mean some other kind.

It was a new decorating rage a couple years back.  Makes the item look like a child smeared wet flour all over the place.      At least that's what my sister's dresser looked like after she painted it with chalk paint
