Never-mind it's unconstitutional but they found a way around that using some kind of 'consumer protection' clause (or something like that) to get away with it. That's the part where they force you to purchase the govt plan or be fined or go to jail.
It's going to tax EVERYONE, not just the "rich". And why should the rich be taxed extra? Why punish people who've done well for themselves? Are they not allowed to keep the money they earned?
I keep seeing people make this 'claim' about the new 'health care bill' forcing people to 'purchase the govt plan or go to jail!!'. I would like to know where this is coming from, since I haven't seen or heard anything to support that claim.
Here is the health care plan in full. I read the entire thing and I don't see anything 'bad' about it. It talks about providing options to people, not FORCING them to buy into the govt program.

I haven't read the tax reform stuff, so I'm not sure what exact reforms are supposed to come into play, but no matter how you look at it, people with more money are going to have to pay MORE taxes than people with less money.
Obviously, a 'flat tax' would be the most fair, with everyone paying the same percentage of their income, but in that scenario, the 'rich' would no doubt end up paying a higher percentage of their income to the govt than they currently do.

As for the idiotic 'bail out' plan - that was started by GWB's people... not Obama.
Ant Wrote:Sorry, it's not all on Bush - you just don't like to face that fact. This mess was started long before Bush but no one is willing to recognize that. Bush isn't innocent in this by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not his 'baby' start to finish.
Well, you can't really judge the economy under a presidency until the end of the term. GWB had 8 years. All I know, is that I keep reading that Clinton erased the national debt and GWB sunk us so far in the hole that we have to look up to see our asses. I don't know how well Obama will do, trying to dig us out of that hole, but I guess time will tell. I do know that if we're going to be in a budget hole, I'd rather see it over govt spending to take care of the health and education of its people rather then spending trillions on ridiculous military BS.
