Oh man, I am such an asshole

The other thing I did was talk to the restaurant owner (where they planned to meet-i am friends with the owner) and arranged a table for them,  as well as paid for their meal (including tip)  my son is pissed off at me.  He said that I took charge of his plans-which, I kinda did.   

Maybe he thinks you treated him like a child and embarrassed him in front of others by doing so and he's insulted & hurt.
