I wouldn't call where I lived then interesting.....or maybe I would. I don't know.

We used to have drive by shootings and our principal wore a bullet proof vest. Which is nothing compared to today's schools, but back then it was pretty significant. He mostly wore it because he pissed people off I guess and he was afraid for his life.
We also had security officers at the school.
