Point taken. I had not considered that so I went looking for a breakdown -
- Soldiers: Approximately 6,600 soldiers representing different eras and units from the Army's history marched in the parade, with many dressed in historic and present-day uniforms. This included soldiers from the Revolutionary War to the modern era, as well as those getting ready to enlist and cadets from military academies.
- Vehicles: The parade showcased about 150 vehicles, including the M1A1 Abrams tank, Bradley Fighting Vehicle, and Stryker armored personnel carriers. There were also vehicles representing different historical periods, like the World War II Sherman tank.
- Aircraft: Around 50 aircraft participated in the parade, including helicopters like the UH-60 Black Hawk and AH-64 Apache. World War II-era aircraft, such as the B-25 Mitchell bomber and P-51 Mustang fighter, also flew over the parade route.
- Other elements: The parade also included:
- 34 horses, two mules, and a dog named Doc Holliday.
- The Army's parachute team, the Golden Knights, jumping onto the Ellipse near the White House.
- Country music performances by Warren Zeiders and Lee Greenwood.
- An enlistment ceremony where new recruits and returning soldiers took their oath of service.
- A fireworks show to conclude the event.
- 34 horses, two mules, and a dog named Doc Holliday.
