Your blood pressure will go up if you’re nervous, even if it’s subconsciously. Obviously thinking you might have a heart attack will make you nervous.

Yep. When I sat down for the first BP reading, I told the nurse “this isn’t going to be good”. 

I knew it would be wonky and likely improve. 

Both my siblings are on high BP medications and my parents were too and my brother died largely, at least, from congestive heart failure. Anyway, it obviously runs in the family so I’m kinda surprised I’m not on some BP or heart medication yet (it’s certainly not due to clean living). 

But…I’m not. 

While I’m very relieved I’m also a TINY BIT disappointed. I didn’t want them to find anything seriously wrong but if they found something innocuous and said “here, take this antibiotic for two weeks and you’ll feel a 100 times better” that might have been nice.
