Did you finally get the herpes under control?

My b/f in high school got herpes from a “player” that she dated for a few months. At the time (science and medicine have probably come a long way since then), it freaked me out/made me very sad for her. All I remember was thinking it was a life sentence and she’d have to tell any future guys she dated “I have herpes so if it’s flaring up, I can’t have sex”.  Awkward at best if you’re around 17 with your whole life in front of u.

Hopefully, it’s not as big of a deal as it seemed back then.
