Oh jeebus Christ. Amish much?
Buzz kill.
Celebrities (in general) aren’t the problem.
If the American people had understood the significance of what the Roman poet Decimus Junius Juvenalis referred to as "bread and circuses", we would not be standing on the precipice of disaster; our masters, unfortunately, understand it all too well.
The highest degree of ignorance is to be ignorant of one's ignorance, and in that regard the American people demonstrate excellence -- rich and poor alike.
I’m not going to tear down all celebrities. It’s an absurd idea anyway. People become celebrities by any number of means (music, other arts, entertainment, sports, being born into a certain family) and some have been decent role models for kids (inspiring) and others have been shit role models and plain greedy mother fuckers. But I don’t see “celebrity” as being inherently bad.
Some people gained celebrity status by being trail blazers in their fields. Those people (even if they were imperfect) inspired others.
IDK much about Taylor Swift or Kelsey but if my daughter was young enough to view a female singer as a celebrity, I’d pick Swift over a lot of the women that came before her. Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston and Brittany Spears come to mind. Swift has (seemingly) thus far managed her celebrity status pretty damn well.
