As fucking morbid as this is, that's a really bad idea.  A shitload of sleeping pills might kill you, but then your body might just reject them and you barf them up and wreck your liver.

I don't want to turn this into a "how to kill yourself effectively" thread, but the most painless and sure way of doing this is to park your car in your garage, close the garage door, open the car windows, and run the car while downing a buncha booze.  Nearly fail-proof.

In theory, yes. But I've arrived on scene once in Rancho Santa Fe where the guy (mid to late 50's) was discovered by his wife probably about a minute or so before he would have died.
Turned out he lost most of his brain, and all the rest of his will to live, but live he did- in a semi-vegetated state.
No, the best and ultimate form of suicide is a shotgun to the lower chin.
I've seen that too, and that shit works.
