FTFY.

I've decided I disagree with the law against theft I'm going to my local supermarket to pick up some free wine and nibbles. If they try to stop me I will just say “sorry I disagree with this law”.

He hasn't logged in since early last July. I don't know exactly what happened but he started getting accused of giving out someone's p.i. (as I recall) and *BOOM* he took down his avatar and disappeared.

It's a zygote first, a group of cells that have to go through the fallopian tubes and attach itself to the uterus wall. In a way it's not much different than cancer cells and I don't know if I'd call that a life.

For me being a woman and having two kids, it's a baby the minute it's conceived.

WTF does being a woman having two kids have to do with it? You think the opinion of men or childless women aren't worth consideration?

I know that I felt differently about it before I had kids.

That's because you a birthing mammal with little access to clinical information if you weren't just a hippo thunking out offspring like a. Pregnant cow you would know better.

You are a clueless mouth breathing breeder haven't you heard of birth control?

Africa and Asia need more abortion clinics. Great practice. They need more funding for sure.

I do always find it interesting that most agree that we are the product of evolution, and all life as we know it today was created from a single cell that found the right conditions in the primordial soup. We readily accept that life began from that single cell and subsequent mitosis, until we crawled ashore as a multi-celled creature.

Without that single cell or the right conditions, there would have been no life to debate.

Yet when two cells find themselves together as a result of a specific process - a process that a species who evolved from a single cell uses to propagate its species - that isn't considered life.

Oh really? In America a significant proportion of people think we are the product of a man created from dirt and a woman created from his rib who were tempted by a talking snake.

As for the single cell does the process of evolution have to always recognise the so called importance of the single cell? Or have we evolved since then to the point where we recognise the single cell as being just that?

If life begins at conception why have we never as a species celebrated the day we were conceived?

Birth control? Not sure I have ever heard of that. Perhaps you could explain it to me.

Answer the question, if life begins at conception why have we as a species never celebrated the day of our conception?

You asked me if I have ever heard if birth control and I answered. Birth and the beginning of life are two different things.

That's simple . . . race and ethnic relations.

Ghetto and white-trash baby mamas don't know who be the daddy.

Ergo: No clue when the event actually happened.

When Hallmark successfully lobbies for a "Conception" holiday, attitudes will change.

A zygote is not alive.

If it is then all biopsy samples taken from the human body are also “alive”.

Freedom and liberty for the “living” biopsy samples!

Actually, Christian followers around the world believe that. It's by no means an American construct.

That's an interesting question. I would say yes, since evolution occurred because of and from the single cell. It deserves its historical due. We shouldn't become so evolved that we denigrate our humble beginnings.

I think because in most cases, conception doesn't involve the vagina stretching to pass a watermelon sized object through it. Given that, it seems entirely appropriate to mark that day.

More seriously however, cultures in the past have certainly celebrated and recognized conception in various ways. Fertility festivals, ornamental statuary, and goddesses have all had a place in celebrating and encouraging conception.

Ancient traditions had no way of knowing the day or date of conception so how could they celebrate it?

All they celebrated was the “hope” of fertility nothing more. Conception to them was very much in the hands of the Gods so to speak.

America isn't the only country to have fundamentallst Christianity but it is the current global hotbed for it.
