I'm kind of ocd about the numbers. At night I set it at 68 because 69 is weird and nasty.

Yup, 68 is nice. I just filled my oil tanks for the winter and got 480 gallons. Two tanks and enough to last the winter. Us north birds do that stuff. It was 2.69 a gallon and I just bet it will be 3.59 by the second week in Oct.  The AC season is almost done.

I pulled my AC unit out last week for the winter. Now I have the windows open at night and I love it. I can hear the crickets chirping.
About a week ago it was dipping down into the 40's at night and I turned my heat on.
This week day temps are back up to 80 and evening temps have been nice.
It is the perfect weather at the moment.

In the summer, I let the doors stay open and I get the sea breeze over the lake. In the winter, I close the house and pull the covers up.

Fuck the aircon

If I open my doors I get a nice ocean breeze, but it's still a 100 degree breeze in the summer. At night it's nice though for cookouts. During the winter you'll freeze your nuts off, it's like the wind blows through your bones. I get a happy medium maybe 5 times per year.

Where is the heat thread? I need a heat discussion. I am staying at my friend's house. I knew it would be cold so I brought my wool blanket and puffy down blanket. She said they turned the heat on and that it would be warm at night. It is set at 68. Its 40 outside. Fuck its cold. Why did I leave my hat in the car? Aaaahhhh

She has a little ceramic heater. Thankfully. She had it on earlier on the lowest setting. This is why I only stay here 1 night. Too many rules, too cold, alarm system, I couldnt go to my car if I wanted.

Usually I stay with people who are overly hospitable. That is the kind of family I came from.

And don't say that they must want me to leave. That isn't the case.

Are you comfortable with that?

No. If I really wanted to go out to my car I could bother them to turn off the alarm, they are the kind of people that want to know everything. I was fine once I remembered she had a little heater, I stayed warm, pulled the wool blanket up to my chin, wore a sweater the next day.
