What was your first job?
#1
I was a paperboy and Mrs. Goldstein would leave cookies and a glass of milk on the back porch on Fridays.

Dishwasher and dining room set up, and coffee maker at local nursing home. The cook and other co-workers hated my 15 year old daydreaming weirdness.

I was around 14 or 15 washing our family car in our driveway.
As it happened, the house on the corner next to ours was bought and made into a Funeral Home. The new owner saw me washing our car, came up to me and asked me if i wanted a job. I said yes what would I have to do.
He told me I would be the care taker after closing hours. I would have to dust off the coffins, clean out the ash trays, straighen out the chairs, sweep up as necessary, things like that.
 I took the job.
It was rather eerie, being there alone especially when  there were 3 rooms with occupied coffins.
The sleeping people looked so peaceful.
I did it for around a year, untill he went  out of business due to lack of funerals.
