I was educated by nuns all through grade school. My biggest memories are one of them spanking Michelle in the cloakroom, she peed her pants, also there was a wall size mosaic mural that used to scare the shit out of me, but the coolest thing, (I never saw it) was the tunnel under the school that went to the banks of the St. Lawrence. So many stories about it, most having to do with smuggling. I lobbied so hard to go to public school.

My mom was going to send us to the Catholic school just down the street from our house, at the bottom of the hill. I'm so glad she sent us to public school. The hour long religious indoctrination classes after Church were bad enough. Vacation Bible School in the summer was kind of cool though.

I liked vacation bible school too.  hah I don't know why that amuses me. I must have been very young because my memories of it are of coloring and then cutting out the characters and snack time.

I mostly remember the excitement I felt of them acting out the Rise and Shine song. Jumping up and down behind the podiums.

I sent my kids to vbs for a couple of summers.    It was a free week of day camp.   hah  they did arts n crafts, and got fed.  Then on the last day they had a big splash party in the church yard.

Too bad the oldest didn't want to go anymore when he turned 9.

I am catholic and went to Catholic schools, there was a nun at senior school Sister Mary Margaret who was an evil sadistic bitch.  The headmaster was ex army whos only priority was discipline, like you get on a parade ground.  Not many happy memories there.  Church was good, i still get that feeling of calmness when i walk in.

I still go to that church when im in town. and go to mass.

I can't believe anyone enjoyed VBS. I hated it. I went to 4-H camp and any time I had to go to bible camp I felt guilty about everything and at VBS It seemed I was the only one that came from a messed up family.
