BOILED DINNER
#1
Have any of you ever heard of it? It normally consists of ham, cabbage, potatoes & carrots.

Yeah,  we use corned beef istead of ham (they even came up with a fancy name for it, 'New England boiled dinner'.)  I add whole onions to mine, but the premises is you throw everything but the potatoes into a large pot,  and boil the shit out of it for like 3 hours.   Add the potatoes in the last hour of simmering.

Yes, our family called that Easter dinner(ham) or St. Patrick's Day dinner (corned beef). Or if we got real fancy, Sunday dinner.

I use corned beef and call it a New England boiled dinner. I usually cook it on St. Patrick’s day and I add turnips to mine because I love turnips.

I love making this in a crockpot only we call it "FSA night" because when I was taking care of my sorta stepdaughter she'd come in from school and smell it and complain "not Fuckin Soup Again!" So the official name for it is now Fuckin Soup Again. And she occasionally asks for it...
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.
