I've been looking at the websleuths site on this case. (Mock has been linked a couple of different times.)
There are people on there with convincing arguments that "burning papers" is slang or a code for smoking pot. Since the texts between their phones would reference "burning papers" or "burning documents", JC basically made up the bank statements and school papers burning on the fly.
Not saying this is necessarily true, just more food for thought.

From Facebook Katelyn Markham disappearance considering everything this fellow is a former LE officer - many many on the Facebook site have fine opinions this fellow is excellent!
"Last part of my rant for tonight is this.. I believe he murdered her just prior to 12:45am. He then had ALL night and ALL the entire next day to drive her to his "supposed never found location" to "dispose" of her. This trip could have easily been anywhere 6 to even 8 hours away, plenty of time to return and call 911 when he did. Does anyone know of any "getaways" or "vacation spots" the two of them may have gone to together that are far away????? I've said from the get-go, he's WAY too comfortable, too relaxed.....So relaxed that he's literally let his guard down. This could be because he knows she's very well hidden or she's very far away.
I apologize for the long rant, and for being so direct with my accusations if it offends anyone. However, we HAVE to think "outside the box" constantly to solve this."

"I spent hours last night reading every detail of his Myspace page, yes, "MySpace", as old as it is... The posts I read were from back even prior to 2007. John sure portrays quite the "Tough Guy" wanna be in a few of the photos. This is 100% OPPOSITE of the image he's trying to portray today, with the soft spoken, tender boyfriend. But what caught my attention mostly, was when he mentioned meeting Katelyn.... He (and I'm paraphrasing) mentions how incredible she is, and that he "hopes" she lets him down "easy" one day if she ever departs.. Because he couldn't make it without her. Again, I'm paraphrasing, but those comments really stood out as someone who couldn't, WOULDN'T let someone ever leave him, i.e. breakup. Here we are many years later, and look what we're discussing.."

From what I've gathered from Cunningham's show on 700WLW, the Butler County Sheriff's Office may also be assisting, and if they are, I know for certain they have some of what I consider the country's TOP detectives on this.
Back to my thoughts on "suspect behavior".... From what I've seen and heard of John, I myself have NO doubt he is behind her dissappearance, and he could lead them to her tonight if he wanted."

Here is a fellow (LA) who dug up this info., & the one person who liked this was the former LE officer (BB), so thanks to the first fellow discovering Kalamazoo guess what? a friend of John's is on there talking up a storm! he does not have nice things to say about former LE guy and he talks a lot, would he lie for John?

Interesting finding there, NightOwl, Thanks for digging through all that stuff on the Considering Everything page, I saw some of it, but didn't have time to read enough to get any clear connections as to who was who.
So what conclusions do you draw from that conversation? A friend who might have helped JC?

Harvest Moon, I don't think his carefree friend helped him that night he lives 25 minutes away, I think only 1 person is involved in this, he stated he wasn't at the pit burning the papers that night but, he sure is getting hostile towards various posters on there and as the former LE fellow said "people get angry when the truth slowly starts coming out" .

"We don't know whether she is a voluntary disappearance or something significant has happened to her," Dickey said.
When asked whether police have any suspects in Markham's disappearance, Dickey responded, "We haven't developed any specific individual because we don't know what happened to her."
But Dickey admitted that no one has been ruled out.
"Those associated with Katelyn continue to be of interest to us, but until we find out exactly what happened to her, it's premature to call anyone a suspect or to rule anyone out," he said.
Basically they aren't calling this a homicide investigation, and they still aren't saying shit.
I'm afraid that until (unless) they find her body, this one's gonna go cold. Once the crops are harvested, the leaves fall and the vegetation dies, some hunters may find her this autumn. I am of the opinion that he had hours to hide her corpse and he didn't leave her in the local area.

She could be in Indiana, Kentucky or Michigan all within a handy drive. I do hope she is not though and pray that the searchers find her.

So sad. Could be so not true too...I always remember Richard Jewell who everyone (including police) thought he did it...lonely, little wierdo' guy who lived with him mom. Turned out he didn't have anything to do with (bombing some park at the olympics)...but would be surprised if he didn't do it.

Forgive me for coming in on this case...NightOwl got me to check it out and it is so sad and interesting too. I've read most of the posts so forgive me if i missed it, but is there ANY evidence at all against the fiance ?

NightOwl, Nice find, but do you have anything that would prove it is really KM's uncle typing those words? If so, that would lead me to believe that her family thinks JC is involved in her disappearance.

Thanks Harvest Moon, all I can tell you is he is listed on Katelyn's Facebook under family as an uncle.......I think he is expressing his opinion & I found it interesting!

What I'd like to know is did he go around with this disheveled look all the time? Who would want Pizza delivered by someone looking like that? LOL Did he go to the Church Festival like this? does anyone know? he was certainly cleaned up for the T.V. interviews.

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) -- The search for Katelyn Markum is now getting help from the STARR search team out of South Carolina, they're unleashing their canine unit using cadaver dogs in the search.
Buddy, a 4-year-old pitbull, is the latest tool searchers are using the help find Markum.
"High energy, high drive dogs, trained in the odor of human remains, cadaver," said Steve Pearrow.
Pearrow and Christen Adkins have been training buddy with the STARR team as a cadaver dog nearly a year.
"They can clear a lot of area, they can cover, and their senses are a lot more heightened then ours are, and they can be a very useful tool as far as finding the lost or missing," Adkins said.
To keep buddy alert in between searches volunteers create what's called a "hide" for the dog to find.
"It's a hide we have out just to get him some training, he searches all day, he doesn't find anything, we've got to be able to get him back out here get him rewarded to keep him going," Pearrow said.
For buddy it's just a game, but for volunteers it's game changer in their search.
"When we deploy these dogs, they don't actually know that, that's what they're looking for, they're looking for the toy, and when they alert or indication, then they're rewarded by that toy," Pearrow said.
The STARR team will be in Fairfield until Sunday.

The Texas group may have returned home for now, but The Facebook Katelyn Markham's disappearance considering everything page will continue on (they are doing a wonderful job on this site!) they are trying to get more posters of Katelyn printed up they are trying to raise money hopefully the Texas group will return! I say cheers! to all the searchers and everyone down there that have helped to find Katelyn Great Job!

Texas group suspends search for Katelyn Markham

FAIRFIELD – On Saturday more than 130 people searched for Katelyn Markham.
Like all the other searches since the 22-year-old college student vanished on Aug. 14, this one – which began at 8 a.m. and ended about 7:30 p.m. – was unsuccessful.
Searchers used cadaver dogs, all-terrain vehicles and horses.
“We did cover a lot ground. We at least know where she’s not. We haven’t given up hope yet,” said Dave Rader, assistant search director with Texas EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery Team.
No additional searches are scheduled, but that could change, Rader said.
“We have to take a step back. We covered a lot of ground in all directions. We’re going to hand over everything we’ve done so far to law enforcement and let them dictate to us if they need us to return to cover more areas.”
EquuSearch founder Tim Miller, who arrived Aug. 30 at the request of Markham’s family, plans to return to Texas, Rader said.
Rader said that if EquuSearch resumes searching, plans will be posted on the organization’s website, www.texasequusearch.org.
Rader noted that some volunteers have devoted much of the last four weeks to the search. “These people have put their lives on hold for somebody they don’t even know.”
Among those who helped search on Saturday, Rader said, were Donna Johnson, mother of Paige Johnson, a Florence teen who has been missing since Sept. 23, 2010; and Debbie Culberson, whose daughter, Carrie, vanished from her Blanchester, Ohio, home in 1996. Carrie’s boyfriend, Vince Doan, and some of his relatives were convicted in Carrie’s death, although the 22-year-old woman’s remains were never found.
