BG, I'm going to treat this like any other crime thread and wait for the facts of the case to come out (as opposed to approaching you to share personal info about someone you may know).
Like HotD, I have to wonder about the mom...and just generally why the kids were allowed to be around a man that had been described as violent, or very violent and it was known that the kids (or at least the eldest daughter) was afraid of him. That's very sad to me. It happens all the time in domestic abuse cases (mom and kids stay out of fear, financial fear...whatever) but it doesn't make it any less sad. I wish somebody had gotten those kids out of there.
