Human Life VS Animal Life

Too bad for you that you can't use your "cop powers" to dictate who replies to your shit then, isn't it?

I still say you should pose the question in my place in 24....if you'd like a wider spectrum of replies about the topic. Honest replies from people who have BTDT.
There was a thread there some time ago that tells some of the story, if you're interested. Oil and Water.

How difficult was it for you to figure that out since that was exactly what I'd said in my first post in this whiney, sanctimonious, God-complex thread? Did it take you all this time to realize that they would say the same?

I'll try and help you understand. (Typing slowly and using small words...)
The question NOT being asked in Mock but in a forum where shit like I've been saying isn't allowed, and other Bikers who are willing to speak rationally about the subject and will explain in vivid detail why cops are hated by my people. There are a couple there who appreciate the chance to discuss that topic as the purpose of the forum is to educate people about Bikers and how we live our lives.

I don't even know why I bother replying to you about this; unless you've lived it, you cannot understand it.

You don't share that trait nor do you have the ability to rationalize between the people you like and those you don't. Bottom line, you take the lazy and easy way out and simply dismiss a group of people without investigating the individual.

Just exactly like every cop I've ever known of does to Bikers. Not one iota of difference.

Not one iota of difference? So you rationalize bikers are the same as cops?

Depends on the human, depends on the animal.
I'm sure you, or basically anyone else, would choose to save their own child's life over the life of another person's child. Likewise, I would choose to save the life of my child over the life of my dog... but it would be a horrible thing to have to do. On the other hand, I would save the life of my dog over the life of many people.

Each person has their own hierarchy of 'value' that they assign to other beings. You could no more argue a valid point that some random human has more 'value' than my beloved pet, than you could argue the point that your child has more value than another person's child. More value to YOU, yes, but to the cosmos? The greater scheme of things?

I was a vegetarian for over a decade. I finally gave that up, but I still feel guilty when eating factory-farm 'meat'. But hell, I honestly wouldn't feel any more guilty eating Soylent Green (less in fact, since those people were not brutally murdered after living in concentration camp conditions their entire lives). I DO feel that if we are going to eat animals as 'meat', they should have good living conditions and be killed quickly and as painlessly as possible.

The argument that animals 'raised for food' or 'raised for research' should be used as such 'guilt free' simply because they were bred for that purpose, is no more valid than saying children born into slavery should be kept slaves, and that their lives mean less than those of other children.

Well said, well thought out Syber. Although I couldn't go near Soylent Green - nope sorry.

I look after and feed/walk a neighbours British bulldog.

Max is the most noble of animals.

There are only a few people I would rather spend time with than him.

If he was about to hit by a car I probably would feel the very strong urge to risk my life to save him.

It's a shame Max is so stupid. My dog "talks" in the general sense. I'm sorry Max is dysfunctional and unintelligent compared to my dog.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/talk

to communicate ideas by means other than speech, as by ... signals.

to make sounds imitative or suggestive of speech.

to convey one's thoughts in a way other than by spoken words

Whether making specific sounds during music or singing, or making sounds to get my attention, using body language combined, or communicating that he wants to be let back in the house with a very distinct type of sound ... my dog communicates ideas and conveys thoughts.

Max, the dope, is perfect for you. You're used to rodents, so I can see why you'd be impressed with Max.
