the 2014 trivial drivel thread
You said last week that you're a lot better at not hounding women than you were 10 years ago.

Now, you're telling us that you're a much better person since the birth of your daughter because she's a good athlete and you no longer despise women's sports -- in fact, some female athletes are even "fairly" impressive to you.

Jesus, MS. Just how shallow and condescending a person were you 10 years ago anyway?

You're welcome, MS. Awink

Talk-blocking you on this one was a selfish gesture on my part anyway.

Everybody wins...

Had to make a short statement.

Just so you know, having a daughter makes a man a better person, generally speaking, IMO.

That's not solely related to appreciating women's athletics, in fact that's just a small part of it. However, I can no longer dismiss women's athletics with disinterest, because she will be a participant.

If that was shallow thinking on my part in the past, I'm glad she's helped me change.

Yep. You're a dork, MS.

Did you see that LeBron James is apparently headed back to play for the Cavs next season?

Can't believe that he left 4 seasons back (doesn't seem that long ago).

Anyway, seemed like every person in Cleveland was pissed when he left, but I'll bet they embrace him like a long lost brother if he returns. He's so damned good.

Yep, LeBron is heading home.

And, hopefully, it helps the Wolves.

You see, LeBron and Kyrie will need a 3rd piece to make a run at the title, and disgruntled Wolves power forward Kevin Love is the perfect fit.

I'm hopeful that this will be a positive for my down-trodden franchise.

Sitting in the emergency lane of the 280 highway with a blown out tire, waiting for emergency roadside service.

I really need to learn to change a tire myself.

Nothing good ever comes from a trip to the dreaded mall.

I just had a flat tire Monday night. Zack changed it for me. $200 for a new tire.

I ended up getting all 4 tires changed and aligned at Sears, plus an oil change, for just over $350 out the door.

My Toyota pick-up is 10 years old this year. It's not pretty anymore, but it is cheap to maintain and still runs great.

Glad you're okay HoD.

I was worried about you when I read you were stranded.

Are you in a Tacoma or a Tundra?

Not bad at all for what you got done. It costs me at least double that on my Ram 3500

Thanks, MS.

It's a 2004 Tacoma. Luckily, I was driving in the slow lane when the tire blew. We got over quickly and the emergency lane was pretty wide -- coulda been a lot worse.

I had a tire go flat years ago in Southern California (yep, I'm gonna start checking them before I start driving, from now on). My older niece, who was little at the time, was with me. We got trapped right at the entrance to the carpool lane on the 55 fwy; that scared the shit outta me.

Cool that you've gotten so much mileage outta her and she still looks pretty, Maggot.

Mine -- not so much.

I'm getting get some cheap body work and a paint job done early next week, though. Hoping they can fix the little window on the driver's side too -- but afraid it'll just get broken into again anyway.

Is that a Montero? Over here they still call that model a Pajero. The Japs didn't do a lot of research into the name and ended up changing it to Montero for the Americas market due to the dorogatory slang definitions associated with Pajero and the lack of sales.

Apparently nobody wanted to drive a wanker..

Still looks good, nothing wrong with it that a few parking lessens couldn't fix.
