TURMOIL IN THE UKRAINE / RUSSIA AGGRESSION
There is a wild rumor out there that Vlad's Minister of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, has a coup on his mind. You know it's probably mind fuckery. I wonder if shit like that runs through Putin's mind.

Stalin had purged about 75% of the high command just prior to Hitler attacking, so they were very lucky to have had the two generals that distinguished themselves in the defense.

I don't think they ever strayed very far. Yeltsin was a drunkard, Putin is KGB through and through.

Kharkiv railway station. They are trying to get away. Kharkiv is the second largest city in Ukraine.

This is a lot of misinformation & outright lies out there. I've been trying to confirm everything and I have been checking pix to see if they are relevant to this war rather than from a different time.

Yes, they need to get out because the Russian military is destroying the Ukrainian infrastructure, much like Bush and Cheney did in Iraq -- and let's not forget that it was under their "leadership" that war reporters were embedded into military units, which is censorship.

It was entirely predictable that Putin would retaliate militarily if the West kept poking the hornet's nest, which it did -- also very predictable, given that neocons are involved, just as they were in Iraq. So it simply isn't true that Putin is entirely to blame for this, because the aggressive eastward expansion of NATO is blatantly hostile from a Russian perspective.

If we can't include the Russian perspective in passing judgement on this mess -- which has been long in the making -- we probably aren't fit to judge much of anything.

I was listening to compline right as I scrolled past this. The part where they were chanting about Jesus' death and resurection.

All that because I posted a picture of a packed train station? I ask because that's what you're quoting. I didn't mention the war criminals, Bush & Cheney, I didn't mention NATO, I didn't even mention the Russians, I posted a photograph with a small description and yet here are you & Sally not only justifying what is going down but telling all of us to have some perspective and scolding us for judging Putin.

Everything I mentioned is what the "news" outlets would be talking about if they had any journalistic integrity. They're all part of the equation, none of them occur in a vacuum, they are not isolated events, yet that is how they are reported on.

As for war criminals Cheney and Bush, why is it they haven't been prosecuted and convicted? Because we live in a world that's rife with double standards? Perhaps you should consider that double standards undermine the so-called rule of law, so if we'd like to live in a world where military aggression is no longer considered acceptable, eliminating them would be extremely helpful.

I don't disagree with any of that, rothschild. I'm all about fairness in life, same rules for one & all and I don't believe that's too much to ask for, but it is. The hardest life lesson for me to learn, and one I still struggle with at my age, is that life isn't fair, it just isn't.

I absolutely believe that double standards undermine the rule of law.

IMO, if ordinary people were more involved in governance, it would allow us to change policies in ways that would strengthen the rule of law. What we're seeing in Ukraine is indicative of what happens when certain groups of people are shielded from the consequences of their actions. We can change this if we step up to the plate and work together. 44
