Sooo many mice

Well, I suddenly feel grateful tonight.
Guy in the cabin across from the one I stay in just came over and told us about his mice woes. And omg its bad. But that isn't his only problem, first he has to fix the plumbing. Seems to be par for the course up here.

I loved that song once upon a time.

I now have watched a mouse die 4 times in my life.

Heard scratching on one of the logs outside near the window. I sprayed pepermint. It went to the back porch, we set 2 traps.

I won't tell about the rest.

Are there any little gay or trans guys around that could lead them out of the village with a rainbow colored flute?

I couldn't bear it. I've killed something twice with the mower and it has haunted me ever since and it's been years. One time a frog and another time a turtle. I just can't stand it. I'm upset thinking about it. *sigh*

Same here. I killed a rabbit with a mower as a teenager and it still haunts me.

The rabbit died in the Fall but he's not still rotting in the Hall. Should have taken the rabbit head to see a movie and not pay to get it in.

Next up in your friendly neighborhood is bats.

And I don't mean outside. i mean inside. While you and the "kids" are watching The Good Place and it starts flying around. It lands, I think, "Fine. Its fine." It isn't hurting anyone, we can deal with it tomorrow.
But 29 yr old w/ special needs decides it needs to get a very long stick to lure it out of the vaulted ceiling. When the younger sibling finally returns with her stupid boyfriend and they actually get the bat on the ground, someone gets gloves and a container with a lid, captures the bat and frees it outside.
All is fine. Its fine.

Meanwhile I'm picturing someone getting bit, not saving the bat and having to get a series of rabies shots in the stomach. Which happened to a kid last year. They had the bat captured, but it didn't survive the ride into town.

Now this thread should be titled "So many Ants"

BUT
I just found out that mice like candles. WHO FUCKING KNEW THAT?! I didn't!

I had some votive candles on the porch that I used outside and they were just gone, and my neighbors didn't take them, so I left some out again and they were gone again. Well I just told a local about it and apparently mice love to chew on the wax. WTF
