Lisa Irwin 10 Mos. missing. MO
(10-17-2011, 12:02 AM)Miss Behaving Wrote: (snipped) And I wonder... does it look to anyone other than me that the mom seems to be somewhat fearful of the dad? He seems rather withdrawn, but every time she says something she looks over at him as if seeking his approval, or fearful of what his reaction might be to what she says, trying to read the subtle cues on his face that people who know each other well are able to see in each other.

I have noticed the way she looks at him during the interviews. Now that the news came out that she was drunk the night Lisa went missing, that could explain some of that tension between the two of them. If DB is in the downward spiral of alcoholism, she could be fearful that he is going to leave her because of her drinking. If she was drunk the night Lisa disappeared, she is probably feeling guilty because she was drunk, not because she had anything to do with the actual disappearance.

I just don't get the feeling that mom was involved, and I am not sure about dad. We could be viewing the interaction between a deeply co-dependent couple. Maybe mom will now enter rehab?

As I'm getting ready for work, I have the Today show on and they showed a brief clip on Lisa and her mother, the mother now admits that she did not check on Lisa the time she said she did that night, she said she actually checked on her about 4 hours earlier than that and that was the last time she could remember... I am fully convinced that she did something, I just have a gut feeling...It's another Casey Anthon, IMO

My goodness... can you imagine the guilt she must feel if she didn't have anything to do with it! I still pray this baby is alive and being well cared for somewhere. A part of me hopes the parents were involved somehow. As warped as that sounds... it's easier for me to live in a world with parents who are crazy, selfish, and unstable for their children (as sad as it is) than random crazy people that sneak into houses and steal their children. Obviously it would be better if neither were the case, but I will sleep better at night knowing there is not some baby knapper out there coming through windows to take my child!

I hope this is allowed to be posted here, but DB's mother was an alcoholic, so DB does have a predisposition.

The father said:

"I had come home and Deborah had woken up when I got there. And we talked for a couple of minutes. I asked her, 'What's going on?' She said, 'What do you mean?' That's when I told her, you know, the lights, the door, the window. And she kind of jumped up out of bed like something was wrong. That was when I kind of realized that something might be wrong," Irwin said.

^^ That makes me think the mother completely blacked out at some point. When he says "the door" is he referring to the door being unlocked or could it have been open? If the mother wasn't involved in Lisa's disappearance, I think she was so sloshed ANYTHING could have happened. She might not have even left Lisa in her crib. I doubt she can say for sure.

i still feel in my gut this sudden recall of being drunk is a convenient calculated legal contrivance.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Investigators working the disappearance of Lisa Irwin have returned to a large wooded area near the girl’s home to perform another search for clues into her whereabouts.

Authorities with the Kansas City Police Department gathered with a backhoe and metal detectors near the 3600 block of Jackson and were preparing to descend onto the woods that flank the western and southern edge of the road.

FBI agents with search dogs began combing over the property near the 5200 block of N. Waldron on Monday morning. Agents would not comment on what they were looking for, but they have shut down the block to the media, and have asked that television crews not to shoot video of their search.

Why would they close it down and not want the cameras to film there? It doesn't sound good to me at all.

No it doesn't sound good at all, poor precious baby girl. I'm still not 1% convinced the mother had anything to do with this as she has her boys still and they seem healthy and happy. I understand the Susan Smith's and Casey Anthony's of the world but Susan killed both her kids and Casey just had Caylee
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

FBI has just come out of the neighbor's house with bags of stuff.
this is the drinking buddy neighbor. dogs are in house also.

FBI will not allow photos. this has not happened before, but it may be for the neighbor's privacy.

You may be right and I might be playing right in to it but I can see why she wouldn't want to admit to being drunk. Whatever happens, she's going to be vilified for that alone (rightfully so).

I could also see a scenario where she's drunk, something happens to the baby (I hate to even say drowning, but there you go) and the mom, knowing she's been negligent, disposes of the body and concocts the whole break-in scenario.

I don't know--I'm just speculating.

It sort of announces your guilt when you hire an attorney that has represented notoriously guilty defendants; doesn't it? Smiley_emoticons_stumm

What attorney should they hire?

One that has never argued a case in court?

Or should they just wait and take a public defender after being arrested?

They are wise to hire a good lawyer now, it may help them not to say things that will later bite them in the ass.

I would do the same thing, guilty or not, I would hire the best attorney I could afford.

On Good Morning America she stated she last checked on Baby Lisa at 6:40 p.m., what time did the father leave for work? AND was she drunk when he left for work?

I would love to know what the other children have said about this night, especially since ONE of the children shares a room with Baby Lisa. WHAT DID this child hear or see?
