I've been picking on pudgy Puffins and chasing Seagulls in Acadia park in Maine. The Puffinsare breeding now and you have to go by boat,we went to Mt desert island and I never knew these birds lived entirely at sea and only came to shore when breeding. Going on a Whale watch tour has got to be the most boring thing in the world though. I was jonesing for a deep sea pole the entire day.:Yawn:

Did you get the problem figured out? It does sound like a modem problem, that's probably what I would check first (by swapping your modem out with another). Also try swapping out your phone cord, those go bad sometimes.

If it's neither of those things, it could very well be the result of some type of viral thing that's caused a system file to become corrupted. You could try reinstalling the O/S, which would fix it if that's the case.
