Heres another one. At school we had a Cambridge United player help with games, they did that to spot talent, he asked me to come training with the youth team which i did but it went nowhere. Anyway, its only in later years , having looked up who he was , that his identity came to light.
He started with Manchester United, but only played one game, even that is remarkable, a claim to fame, he moved on to York then Cambridge. Here is the remarkable bit, he was a Busby babe, only football fans would know what that means, he was a young player under Matt Busby a legendary manager. He wast high profile, there was an incident when Busby asked a coach during a team talk, who the n----r in the corner was.
Such was how it was back then. When he retired he bacame a football manger, then he was the manager of a shopping centre in Manchester that had a bomb threat came through, he evacuated everyone but himself, he got blown up, thrown across whatever and got badly injured. He has passed on. He was a smashing bloke, calm, jokey, relaxed, his trick was to nutmeg people, i did that throughout my football career, rolling the ball through peoples legs to humiliate them, i copied him.
Thats a strange thing Rolf Hobart got blown up too, the lesson is, know me then get blown up by explosives, no no no chang, not like that.
