They locked the school last night too. There was a similar incident in North Bend. Guy killed his family and holed up in a bunker he had been creating for years. What is wrong with people?

When I evacuated last year I had to ask the park for the keys to my house so I could pick it up when I left.
I can't stop crying this morning.

How close is your nearest neighbor? If I lived in a remote location by myself and were facing those kinds of recommendations I’d be wary even leaving my house in broad daylight (w/out some company or neighbors nearby). I *might* go to the extreme of barricading doors and shit. Which sucks!! Do you own a gun? Definitely must be stressful/tiring. Odds are small but always better safe. Commando Cunt Queen

I don't own a fire arm. I have close neighbors. One of them being the park maintenance manager.
I house sat earlier in the week and the front door lock was broken so I put a chair in front of it.

You're on my mind. Can you check-in? I don't want to be overbearing, but I'm a little worried about you.

I have a pointy olive branch and a razor sharp hatchet. Oh and 4 motion activated surveillance cameras.

People around here are more fearful of pride flags and wolves they say don't belong than a murderer in the woods. On the other hand there are people expressing concern for his well being-in that he is a product of a failed system. They don't excuse what he did and still say it is horrific, but they have compassion for a veteran that sought help and didn't get it. I drove by a small swat team camp yesterday on my way to the air strip. One officer from Spokane came in to my work I said, "Thank you for being here" "Sorry you have to be" and he said hes not sorry. They are more than happy to be here and even with the tragic circumstances I think some of them enjoy the challenge ahead of them. Its been a long week. I am still sitting in bed, but not in a depressive way. Just a "I need to rest and take care of myself way". Also I feel bad for starting this thread. I don't know if you would have heard of the story otherwise. @BigMark surveillance cameras are nice. I thought about some of the wild life cameras that exist around here. The last update I heard is he is barefoot.

That is true. Thanks.
Currently the road past the ranch has been closed, looks like it will open up today and the trails. That is good news for us and the hikers. The Sierra Club is currently at the Ranch and they have been unable to do their thing they do, whatever that is. Some hiking and trail maintenance things.

Ahh
There is a seasonal worker here who said she hopes her family doesn't hear about it. There is a 13 member National Guard swat team here. Better here than L.A.

Blood discovered at a campsite where three young Washington state sisters were found dead last week belonged to a male, authorities said Monday as the search continued for their father, a former soldier with extensive survival skills.
Investigators have been looking for Travis Caleb Decker, 32, since the night of May 30, when he failed to return the girls to their mother's home in Wenatchee, about 100 miles (160 kilometers) east of Seattle, after a scheduled visit. Three days later, a sheriff's deputy discovered the bodies of 9-year-old Paityn Decker, 8-year-old Evelyn Decker and 5-year-old Olivia Decker down an embankment at a campsite in the Cascade Mountains. The campsite, west of Leavenworth, is about 11 miles (18 km) from the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs from the U.S.-Mexico border to the U.S.-Canada border. Decker has been charged with murder and kidnapping. According to a probable cause statement filed in Chelan County Superior Court last week, Decker's truck was left at the campsite, and it had two bloody handprints on the tailgate. In a news release Monday, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office said tests revealed that one blood sample taken from the scene belonged to a male, and another turned out to be from an animal. ![]()

Authorities say they believe they spotted Travis Decker, an ex-soldier wanted in the deaths of his three daughters, near a remote alpine lake in Washington state, after receiving a tip from hikers who said they saw a lone person who appeared to be ill-prepared for the conditions.
The Chelan County Sheriff's office said in a Facebook post Tuesday that tracking teams responded immediately, and a helicopter crew spotted a hiker near Colchuk Lake, in a popular Cascade Range backpacking area called The Enchantments. The off-trail hiker ran from sight as the helicopter passed, the sheriff's office said. Teams later found a trail, and K-9 teams tracked the person to the area of the Ingalls Creek Trailhead, south of Leavenworth. Authorities did not say when they spotted the subject, but late Monday night they issued an alert for residents in the Ingalls Creek and the Valleyhi community to lock homes and vehicles and to be on the lookout for Decker. https://www.aol.com/investigators-narrow...08815.html ![]()
