Speculation only: I think TPD suspected Ramirez was conspiring with the Clarkes before or immediately after shots were fired at Tiffany and that's why they didn't charge Maytee with assault initially. Ramirez was under investigation by Internal Affairs when he was arrested, according to Chief Kral during the press conference.

That makes great sense. Something happened to draw their attention to Ramirez. I would love to know what that was.

Yeah, they're all charged with felony assault. It's not the first time for Ramirez to face an assault charge either.

So, Maytee thinks the prosecutors are lazy.

Ramirez, on the other hand, called them overly aggressive and out to get his badge when he was charged with domestic assault against his crackhead ex-girlfriend back in 2002. He was acquitted by the jury.

It sounds like the TPD leadership and prosecutors knew that Ramirez was a bad apple way back then.

For those that are unfamiliar with the court system, Ramirez and Maytee did NOT have their charges go away. It is procedure in Ohio that when a case is initiated in Municipal court, it must be dismissed or nollied to make it to the next step - a Grand Jury in a superior court such as Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Are you aware of what is being said on the streets about the arrest of these three people? I'm curious to know if surprise is being expressed or if there are people who were aware that Ramirez was working with Maytee & John.

And the fact that memories are short, maybe one or two years. A lot of people do not remember or even know of this case. We have this funky newspaper in town called The Blade, and most people quit reading it years ago.
As far as Ramirez, I never cared for him. He was the kind of cop that had power, knew it, and used it and abused it.
He is not the only dirty cop in Toledo, either.

It's sorta amazing to me that people wouldn't have more of a vested interest in their community. When people don't care it leaves room for bad shit to happen.

Somewhere in here I recently read a quote of Maytee's, she said something to the effect of Dt. K told her that AC, Tiff and others had something to do with the murders or that they knew something about them. I question that. I find it hard to believe an investigating officer would ever say that to any parent of a murdered child. Do any of you know if that's something they WOULD tell them?

I wondered about that back when it was posted too...I could see if he was struggling, that his shirt would Come up etc. But his pants? Even if he wore them at the bottom of his rear end, that wouldn't happen. Could they have thought he had something hidden and checked? So weird...

J L..... springfield twp dropped the ball in the beginning and TPD dropped the ball during the entire investigation! it was not taken seriously. One person was punished. Johnny was not a small guy. it took more than one person to hold him down, believe that! and also the person on the phone to lure him out of house while the others waited outside..disgusting and calculated crime.

We don't have to explain ourselves to anyone but in all reality the police should be arresting her and everyone else detective Kozak told us is involved! Don't target the victims of victims.... Go after the real criminal murderers that took our son and gf from us.
