Fuck Muhammad!!!
The latest news from the Sandbox.

President and most of the Ministers resigned, thereby adding themselves to the already rather large unemployment rate of Yemen and the country is wondering who will be able to hire them, plus Al Qaeda is feeling upset and thinks about lodging a complain with the International Court in the Hague regarding bullying tactics.

Of course as everybody knows, since Al Qaeda Inc. lost their secretly porn watching leader bin Laden, who would've thunk, it's been a bit of a downward spiral for them. Drones taking out their leaders of here, new kids jumping around the block, and those new kids come with a massive amount of bling bling plus a behaviour that makes Stalin masturbate in his grave.

Not only did the Houtis here show them the middle finger, but now even IS is telling them to go and fuck themselves, which must really hurt. There you are, thinking you are the boss leading the way, only to have your fellow brothers walk up to you and kick you in the balls. Outch!

IS and Al Qaeda started apparently to have shoot outs down in the South here, which sounds like a normal thing if you're an American and lived thru the 60s I guess, I know as I saw Mississippi burning, and it's about catching new recruits and pretty much like who's got the better and cooler club house. From the latest reports Al Qaeda's leader has locked himself inside his room and one can hear silent sobs mixed with shouts of "Why does everybody hate meeeeee?!?!" coming from it.

Meanwhile in Germany as the rest of the world is going thru chaos, a court has decided that men in Germany are indeed allowed to pee while standing. Thank God for that!

The sad fact is that terrorism works unfortunately otherwise they wouldn't do it.

I'd be surprised if Elisabeth's "70,000" remark was meant to be taken literally and was an accurate count, Mo.

But, as far as I know, there is no published number for western nationals residing in Yemen, only approximations in regards to the number of refugees from Somalia and Syria and such, so it's impossible to know.

The 72 hour deadline has passed for the Japanese hostages held by IS in Syria. Media reports indicate that Japanese officials were unable to get in contact with anyone from IS, though they attempted to do so through various channels and intermediaries. I think Mr. Yukawa and Mr. Goto are goners.

I agree the Japs are goners. Eventually the entire world will be gunning for these idiots. I also think that in the long run any Muslim that does not go along with death to anything that moves will start getting pissed at these knuckleheads that have turned their religion into such a perverse monster. But not until more bad shit happens.

You are so adorable. Yes, it is meant to be taken literally as they took it very seriously due to the legal aspect of it. As an American citizen you are supposed to have the same rights everywhere, which basically you do unless you are an actual Native American living in America. I still wonder when you guys will have your first "Real" American as a President, I mean by now even the Blacks beat them, no?

Anyway, so legally if they evacuate Americans out of here, mainly Americans you would find acceptable, like sort of white and looking a bit Irish or at least European, they would also have to take all that other riff raff they gave a passport to, no? And it is the American passport that makes up the biggest expat community here, even beating Egypt, who are second, or was before the shit hit the fan of Syria.

Published figure for western nationals? Of course not, such would have to be done from the Yemeni side, but trust me, each Embassy pretty much knows how many of their folks are currently residing here, simply because of the Visa regulations of this place.

So that is also why the US Embassy here got about 250 staff. And is rather large for a shitty country like this that people who didn't watch Friends don't even know exists. Also why it would be impossible for them to actually announce they are evacuating as all of a sudden all those people could be standing in front of the Embassy going "Me too! Me too!"

Yep, 70000. Why is it so hard for you to believe? America is a place made up of 98% foreigners. You pretty much killed all the locals when you got there, remember?

Hey, Purple Ninja is still alive and somewhat kicking. Most excellent. What you've been up too dear friend? Rubbing yourself up with Tiger Balm and listening to speeches by Churchill over New Years I guess.

Why thank you Mo.

But, yeah, I would still be surprised if there were 70,000 Americans living in Yemen right now.

Why? Because that would mean that Yemen, a country which has been very unstable and ranked among the most dangerous for Americans for several years, is among the top 10 countries in the world for American diaspora. It would mean that Yemen hosts more American residents than are estimated to reside in Italy, Hong Kong, China, India, Brazil, the Bahamas... It would mean that Americans make up about 25% of Yemen's total immigrant population. It's hard for me to believe. But, there's no formal source to confirm or deny it, so it could be true.

P.s. Immigrants comprise just under 15% of the US population.
Reply
This exodus of Yemeni's did not happen in the last several years when Yemen started to be ranked as dangerous and unstable.

I am working with 60 year old Yemeni's who were born in the UK. In 1965 Aden was after New York and Liverpool the third busiest port on the planet. When Dubai was nothing but a tent with a lone fisherman, Aden had a thriving Duty Free shopping, a large out door cinema and go cart racing course, and was THE place to be in the Middle East. It was the favourite Jet Set hang out of the Western Elite in the Middle East.

Then the Russians took over the South and thousands of Yemeni's went to the West as they had long standing ties there. Singapore was build partly by Yemenis as was Indonesia, with the Alatas family from Hadramout being the most famous as he was their Foreign Minster.

However, most of the population here is the north, which is that whole mountain area going up on the left side on the country if you check on Google Earth, which has or had about 15 million people that time and their port city of Hudeidah, and then that huge aptly named Empty Quarter on the right, that has Hadramout, Marib and also Aden, in it, going up to Oman. So the mountains had all the population and Western back up but other wise fuck all, while the empty side had only about 2 million folks spread all across that huge area, but also all the natural wealth, i.e. Oil, which is the reason I am typing this right now from Marib. Then the cold war came, one side, the north or right side to which also belong Ibb and Taiz, became Western influenced, with the US Embassy in Sana'a since the 60s, and the other side became Russia.

So then they had their war and all became one. During all those 30 and more years, and not only the last 4 since everybody talks about Al Qaeda in Yemen, you had a huge and healthy immigration going out of this country simply to make money. Apparently most Yemeni's going to the States was to be part of your flourishing car manufacturing. So add to that the fact these guys here bread like Rabbits, which clearly upset our Pope, and in the matter of 40 years they have multiplied to 70.000.

All, or most of it, stopped with the USS Cole.

How many Chinese and Italians do you have in America? I guess it's a bit more than 70.000. Why? Because they are there since generations. The only difference they seem to have is that they do not make their money in the States to build their mansions back home but actually enjoy living in the States. Like I said, Ibb and Taiz are build on American made money, and their population is about 2 million each, and these guys love the idea to show of their foreign made wealth in their home country.

And what do you mean with 25% of Yemens total immigrant population? 25% of the population here makes 6 million folks. Even taken from that, 25% still makes 1.5 million. So which 25 do you mean? What you think how many Somali's carry US, UK or Canadian passports?

And I think you are wrong with the immigrants. Actually I believe Native or Real Americans comprise of 15%. The rest is all Immigrants. Just a few generations back and most of you came from somewhere else.

The Yemeni-born grandchildren, great grandchildren...of Americans who migrated to Yemen are not themselves American immigrants in Yemen. They didn't migrate there, they're from Yemen.

Likewise, the American-born grandchildren and great children... of Africans, Italians, Germans, Irish, Chinese et all who migrated to the US generations ago are not themselves immigrants. They're Americans. Immigrants comprise about 15% of the U.S. population. The U.S. is home to more immigrants than anywhere else in the world (over 45 million of them), but immigrants make up a significantly higher percentage of the population in several other countries (Australia, Canada, UAE, Saudi Arabia...).

As for Yemen, it has a population of about 24,000,000. Immigrants make up about 1.3% of the population of Yemen, which means that there are around 315,000 immigrants living there. If 70,000 of them are Americans, that would equate to between 20 and 25% of the total immigrant population in Yemen being comprised of Americans.

The immigrant populations and percentages by country are part of the UN's International Migration Stock Report (last updated in 2013). http://www.un.org/en/development/desa/po...ndex.shtml

So, yeah, I still would be surprised if 70,000 Americans are currently living in Yemen, Mo. But, as I said, I acknowledge that it could be true.

Anyway, stilll no confirmation on the status of Mr. Yukawa and Mr. Goto. But, as Crash indicated, a tweet from IS insinuates that they've been executed and claims that the video has been sent to production.

In the meantime, Japanese citizens have been mocking the shit outta IS on Twitter with all kinds of memes and chops.

Mr. Yukawa was reportedly executed. A photo of his fellow hostage, Kenji Goto, holding a picture of beheaded Yukawa was sent to the hostages' families and the Japanese government, along with an audio tape.

In the audio, Mr. Goto explains that IS is no longer demanding ransom money for his release, so Japan no longer has to worry about "funding terrorists" to save his life.

Instead, Goto explains, he will be released if Jordan releases a female prisoner who was part of a suicide bombing campaign back in 2005. Her suicide vest failed to detonate and she was convicted and sentenced to death in Jordan. She is awaiting an appeal. IS considers her a "sister". Goto appeals to his wife not to let PM Abe kill him like Abe killed Mr. Yukawa.

Photo and Audio here --> http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=460_1422113857

IS captured a Jordanian pilot after his plane went down in Syria a couple of months back and, to the best of my knowledge, he is still being held captive. I don't know if Jordan would consider releasing the convicted female terrorist in return for Goto and/or its pilot, but I highly doubt it.

Today, British PM Cameron and US President Obama expressed condolences for the loss of Mr. Yukawa and pledged to stand side-by-side with Japan.

Listen up Mrs Ueberspecific of San Francisco, you are like some sort of utterly cute Pittbull that once it sinks its teeth into something really has a problem getting its adorable head around it. Just like when I said the next day IS put up their demands for 200 mill, little Miss Sunshine comes jumping in on her skip rope, going "Well, no, it was actually 3 days to be exact."

Somehow it doesn't seem clear to you, I blame it on a massive amount of Crab Cakes and those Bloody Mary's that go with them, that when I said you have 70.000 American passport holders here, that those are clearly 70.000 Yemeni's that have been issued American Passports.

Of course they are from Yemen, that's what I've been saying the whole time! However, they have American citizenship, hence if the Embassy here announces it will evacuate their staff, which means Americans, those very 70.000 Yemenis that have American passports/citizenships have the right to ask for that very same thing. Hence the Embassy here being so large, which makes many people wonder.

Where do you get the idea from that 70.000 Americans have landed on this shore in a boat from Somalia? Then again, most probably it was Sitting Bull and Geronimo's grand kids as they can run around here more freely than back home in their reservations. Would make sense, no?

Now don't come back to me saying "But Americans never took boats from Somalia!"

It's not even 6am here and I already feel like a Gin Tonic. See what you're doing to me?!

I am not blind nor sheepish dear Mo.

So, as long as you keep your German shepherding up, you may be simply chasing your own tail.

You're barking up the wrong tree with your whimpering about the "next day" vs. "a few days" comment. I'd just read the story timeline and jumped (I don't skip) off your post -- nothing more. I generally like your colorful posts. Sometimes I'll jump off them, comment, ask a question, or call something out rather than pant, sniff your butt, or just follow.

I wasn't being ueber specific when I responded to your outrageous claims about immigration percentages and numbers. How the eff would I know that Mo considers people who have never migrated to a country to set up residence to be "immigrants"? For the rest of us bullheaded individuals who naturally use the specific universally-accepted definition of "immigrant", immigrants make up 14 - 15% of the U.S. population (not 98%).

And, I would still find it surprising if there are 70,000 dual Yemeni/American citizens + American foreign workers/students + American citizens on passport or visa for other reasons residing in Yemen. It would surprise me despite the historical canvas you've painted and despite the fact that you have it on very good source (having overheard your neighbor spit out that number in retort to another diplomat's remark at a restaurant meeting back in 2011 and all).

Now, if you think that makes me hard-headed, ignorant, or too mentally inept to grasp what you're putting out, tis no problem.........so long as you still find me adorable and cute. And, I will read every single word of every single comment you post should you continue trying to convince me that I should accept 70,000 as an unsurprising fact. Keep beating me over the head with that coveted bone -- maybe it'll eventually knock some sense into me!

Cheers, Mo. Cheers

This is our weird sort of foreplay. If we would be sitting opposite each other in a Starbucks down town San Francisco, it would be right now that we would jump up and ravenously ravage each other Smiley_emoticons_smile

Now this seems to be a concept very hard for you to grasp. Immigrants, shimigrants, who gives a flying hoot! It is local Yemeni people that went to America, like everybody else in America apart from the 5% of locals whom you people so wonderfully killed with all your colourful diseases and invention of gun powder, hence took over their beautiful country and build ugly cities like Detroit which made them all succumb to alcoholism, as well as turning Bill Cosby into a ravaging rapist, but notwithstanding, being all foreigners on foreign land, all of you then stood up with your Irish red hair do's or Italian accents, and said "Right buddy, we are now all Americans, hip hip hurray!"

Even your most famous landmark in New York is an immigrant! At least the Eiffel Tower was build by a French and kept there.

I said there are 70.000 Americans residing here, and not Immigrants or Crazy Horses relatives! Now take your unbelievable, yet somehow utterly adorable, stubbornness out of that equation and simply call them .... Americans. For that's what they are. Just like anybody is considered a German once he receives their passport and citizenship, i.e. gorgeous me!

And 70.000 is a small number, I wouldn't be surprised if they are more by now really, as it is the daily figure of visitors to a Wall Mart in the States. Take the Turkish for example. After Istanbul, Berlin is the second biggest Turkish city.

That neighbour was the second in charge of your Embassy here. And believe me, they do tend to take such minimal issues somehow rather seriously, especially in areas like these, simply for logistic reasons!

Now the only immigrants that would fall under YOUR category of immigrants, meaning Americans who for some reason actually moved here, are either all dead or have ran off. I actually don't think there are anymore left here really apart from the Embassy staff. Surprisingly we had a large group of Yanks across the country that were on some conversion mission, which always made me wonder why the fuck anybody would do such.

Did they sit around a coffee table somewhere in the States one day and somebody said "Hey, you guys know what would be a cool idea? Let's go to Yemen, spread the word of Christ, and take them all to our side and show them the real paradise!"

It's as dumb as walking into a Mexican prison and offering free blowjobs to everybody. You tend to get fucked up down the road! Which some of them did, the others all left. So, that's YOUR immigrants. Mine are all American Passport holders and Citizens who take advantage of making way more money over in the States than they could do here, yet qualify as Americans who have each and every single right any of YOUR Americans has, including free transport in case of an evacuation as well as fucking up any native American they come across.

Pant and sniff butt? I would do much worse right now! Smiley_emoticons_smile

Yes, I recall. If she still works there, your friend may be on sabbatical for a bit, my friend.

Today, the US launched a drone strike in Marib and announced the closing of the US Embassy in Sanaa for the immediate future.

It'll be interesting to see what goes down in the next few months with the changes in leadership in both Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

And, over in Egypt.........during a speech at the iconic university where Muslim clerics have trained for more than a thousand years, President al-Sisi really stirred things up earlier this month. He said: “Is it possible that 1.6 billion people [Muslims] should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants—that is 7 billion—so that they themselves may live? Impossible!”

Al-Sisi urged a “religious revolution” in Islam, and called on imams to confront the strain of Islamic thinking that is “antagonizing the entire world.”

“The entire world is waiting for your next move,” he said, “because this umma [Islamic community] is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost—and it is being lost by our own hands.”

Whole lotta shaking going on...

We will now pause for a stupid question.

I am a US citizen and I have a US passport. If I'm a Yemeni citizen, and I have in my hot little hands a passport that allows me to travel to the United States that's vastly different than having a U.S. passport/US citizenship. This whole paragraph may be stupid (I'm far from an expert on passports) but HOW THE HELL DOES SOMEONE "FROM YEMEN" OBTAIN AN AMERICAN ISSUED PASSPORT AND CITIZENSHIP without going through all the legal requirements necessary (including, I believe, residing here for some period of time) to become a U.S. citizen? I'm not getting the relationship between passports and citizenship. If you're from Yemen, would you not then have a Yemeni passport?

*scratches head*

Seriously?

Ok, here is another stupid question. What on heavenly earth could possibly make you somehow believe that they actually didn't?! It takes certain regulations to obtain ANY, forget about American really, other citizenship than the one you are born with, and how did your cute and clearly blonde mind come up with the conclusion that these people somehow obviously didn't?!

Some of them are already in their second and third generation citizenships. Their kids go to the Universities there in the States, they have houses, they are Americans. They spend time in America, have shops, some of them might be even, as disgusting as it sounds, eat at Burger King or Mc Donalds. Most probably only on weekends so.

However, considering that the average woman here has 7 kids, that means they all have a bunch of family still back home as well, and this was traditionally a country where the oldest son or two, were send of to foreign countries to enhance their lives plus sending money back home to support their families here. That was about 60 years ago! And only stopped pretty much only when Saddam invaded Kuwait.

HotD, my most scrumptious Vanilla frosting covered Doughnut, Elizabeth left about 3 years ago. Shortly after I myself left the US Embassy. The one who took her position is a funny woman called Sasahara and looks like a very stern Geisha. Even walks like one.

Yes, the Embassy closed yesterday and I am right here in Marib at the moment and am curious about the stories the Bedouins here will come up with today regarding the Drone strike. I shall definitely not wear my US Embassy T-Shirts for the next few days!

Meanwhile the Kurds are kicking ass and German men are finally rewarded the go ahead by a court in Germany to pee while standing. I bet only German citizens so. You know, proper citizens. Those who eat pork knuckles and sauerkraut, wear Lederhosen on Sundays and manage to Jodle a bit. The rest? We don't know them!

For just a moment there, I took your post as patronizing...I'd hate to have to kill you.

So you're agreeing with HotD that, in fact, some Yemeni's immigrated to the United States, and had children there that made them US citizens. Those children (and perhaps their parents if they went through the process to become U.S. citizens themselves) would no longer be considered "from Yemen". If they relocated to the US and became US Citizens, then they're immigrants or visitors to Yemen.

Oh fuck you. Now I have a big headache. Just get out before your not country implodes, you stupid bastard. Allauh akbar, Mo Fo.
