Exactly right, and part of the reason I have no regard or sympathy for "legacy."

"They can take away my life, they can make me out as a monster, they can treat me as a monster, but they can't take away my heart. In my heart, I know I did not do these alleged disgusting acts. My wife has been my only sex partner, and that was after marriage. Our love continues," he vowed. This is what Jerry Sandusky states on the eve of his sentencing. more at the link below...

30-60 years

Former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky has been given a sentence of 30 to 60 years in prison, essentially guarantee that 68-year-old convicted child abuser will stay in jail the rest of his life. Sandusky was convicted this summer of 45 counts of child sexual abuse, with each one carrying a possible sentence of 10 years. In a statement released last night, Sandusky continued claim his innocence, blaming his victims, prosecutors, and Penn State University for orchestrating a conspiracy against him.

Idont know how i feel about the judge only sentencing him to this because "hes an old man and wanted to be realistic and not sentence him to centuries." I say screw that there are criminals sententeced to over a hundred years and robert yates is sentenced to some ungodly years granted his was for murder but maybe then it will sink in he did this nasty shit. He had one pissed off look as he was led out of the court house no more toothy grin.

It chaps my ass that he had 68 years where he was allowed his freedom - personal and financial - to spread his nastiness. I bet he doesn't last 5 years in prison before he is dead.

Do you know that there is a shit ton of people out there that still defend Joe Pa's role in all this. They are outraged that his name & legacy have been tarnished.

Wonder if he'll still be interested in teaching young men how to properly shower when they're the ones doing the "horseplay". I hate to be THAT guy who always wishes jailhouse rape on some convicted parv, but in this case I kinda am. A little "punishment fits the crime" karma would be nice.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

From @Heartbreakers link:

Sandusky says:
A young man who was a dramatic veteran accuser, and always sought attention, started everything. He was joined by a well-orchestrated effort of the media, investigators, the system, Penn State, psychologists, civil attorneys and other accusers. They won. I've wondered what they really won: Attention, financial gain, prestige & will all be temporary.

He goes on to continue accusing all of the victims, their families and everyone in the system of a conspiracy. Sandusky insists that HE is the victim. If he were not imprisoned, I have no doubt in my mind that he would still be offending. He's exactly where he should be, for the rest of his life.

30 to 60 yrs??
What a slap in the face to the victims.

We had a guy in my area that got 320 yrs for molesting 2 young girls. He had several different felony counts against him, but not even close to what this pervert had. Why the hell can't they give him hundreds of years? Of course he's going to die in prison, but they should have given him the max sentence allowed for each count he had.

My worry is could he get out earlier for good behavior and/or working jobs inside the prison if that is allowed? Doesn't good time served cut his time almost in half and what about over crowding as he gets close to end date, will they just say oh he can't be a threat and release him on home monitor because at that point he'd be some much older....idk I smh at it all. I say he should have been sentenced for each count he was found guilty off regardless of his age. Is there any way besides lifers and death penalty that you aren't eligible for the early release for good behavior?

I heard on the news this morning that he might be organizing sports programs for the prison due to his background. Not much of a punishment for him if you ask me. He also gets to watch Penn State games on TV. He loves football. Take it away from him. He doesn't deserve to watch it or be a part of any sports program.

Former Penn State president Graham B. Spanier was charged Thursday with eight criminal counts connected to leading a “conspiracy of silence” in covering up allegations of child sex abuse against Jerry Sandusky, Pennsylvania Attorney General Linda Kelly announced.

Spanier, 64, is charged with perjury, two counts of endangering the welfare of children, obstruction of an investigation, failure to report child abuse and three criminal conspiracy counts. Kelly said that a grand jury investigation had difficulty getting information from Penn State until Spanier and two other top officials were forced out of their jobs soon after Sandusky was arrested last November.

Former Penn State president Graham Spanier was charged Thursday with hushing up child molestation allegations against Jerry Sandusky, making him the third school official charged in the alleged cover-up.

“This was not a mistake, this was not an oversight,” Kelly said at a press conference Thursday afternoon. “This was a conspiracy of silence by top officials.”

Absolutely. I think that old man made a conscience choice to ignore what was going on. I think that redhead (his name escapes me) should pay a price as well, he actually turned his back & walked away as a boy was being molested.

McQuarrie was the redhead. I don't necessarily know that he should face criminal charges, he did report it to what he thought was the authorities. However, I don't think he deserves any sort of recognition for his act, he was basically a coward who still was more worried about his own ass than that of the kid he walked in on. He should be out of coaching for lack of ethical values.

If the evidence is as the prosecutor claims, it ought to be an easy conviction. Spanier would face jail time of up to 39 years if convicted. I doubt if he'd get that much time, but IMO he ought to get at least 15 years. His cover-up led to the molestation of children. At his age, 15-20 years would be pretty much a life sentence. I'm expecting his attorneys to delay this case for months.

A lawyer for former Penn State assistant Jerry Sandusky said Friday his client has gotten his fighting spirit back after his child abuse conviction and sentencing and hopes prison officials will find a way to house him under less restrictive conditions than he currently experiences.

Karl Rominger said after spending several hours with Sandusky at Greene State Prison in southwestern Pennsylvania on Friday that Sandusky's outlook has improved since he was sentenced two months ago to decades behind bars. He said they discussed pending post-sentencing motions and plans for an appeal.

"I was meeting with a man who was again ready to press forward, who has regenerated his energies and has clearly devoted his time and energy to perfecting that appeal," Rominger said. "His fight is 100 percent back."

Rominger said Sandusky, 68, rates as a Level 2 inmate on a five-level security classification but is being kept under much more severe Level 5 conditions. He said Sandusky is alone in his cell for 23 hours a day during the week and around the clock on weekends.

Rominger said Sandusky has been allowed two phone calls a month, while other Level 5 prisoners get only one. Sandusky also has been issued a television, which Rominger said would not be the case for a typical Level 5 prisoner.

He said he planned to write to the prison's warden.

"We're not completely devoid of common sense," Rominger said. "We understand the prison system is trying to balance their concerns about physical safety. We are just looking for middle ground."
